Everything about his teaching is positive, even when the dog fails, he manages to use it for a better understanding of the dog in an absolutely fantastically fine way. A fair and kindness way for the dog and his human to take all the pressure off. This ensures that your dog's trust can grow so that your dog feels "special" with you.

"I've trained 3 showline golden retrievers in English Obedience. All of them working at Crufts and two becoming Obedience Champions.

My second dog, Flame, taught me everything i know. He taught me how to use mistakes to help your dogs learn, so they never feel like they have done anything wrong.

Being positive when the dog is good is easy. Being positive when your dog doesnt do what you want is much harder, but crucial to release stress and keep the dog experimenting.

When you understand why your dog doesn't do what you want, you can look at mistakes and failure in a very positive way, as they will help you and your dog learn, if you deal with them with the right mindset. This means both dog and owner can have lots of fun because they no longer fear failure.

My philosophy also involves trying to let the dog make all the choices in training. This really builds confidence and self esteem.  Breaking exercises down into small pieces allows the dog to have a great chance of sucess.
